Our Safety Features

Every feature we've built is designed with one goal — making sure you can adventure freely, knowing someone always has an eye out for your return.

📍

Real-Time GPS Tracking

Live Route Recording

As soon as you clock in to any ride, hike, bike, camping, or motorcycling session, your GPS location is recorded continuously — building a full trail of where you've been.

Emergency Contact Live-View Link

When you start a session, your designated emergency contact automatically receives a secure, private link via email. Opening that link shows your real-time location on a live map — no app download required. The link expires when your session ends.

Distance Measurement

Total distance traveled is calculated automatically throughout your session and displayed in your session history, so you always know how far you've gone.

Offline GPS Monitoring

Lost signal on the trail? No problem. The app continues tracking and storing your location data locally on your device. The moment connectivity is restored, everything syncs automatically to the server — no gaps in your trail.

Proactive Weather Monitoring

Automatic Weather Checks

Every active session with GPS tracking is monitored against live weather data. The system continuously checks for dangerous conditions across all riders — whether they're on a trail ride, hike, or camping trip.

Thunderstorm Detection

The system detects thunderstorms, lightning, and severe storm conditions using real-time weather data. When detected near your active location, it triggers an immediate warning.

Heavy Rain Detection

Rainfall exceeding 10mm per hour (heavy precipitation) triggers alerts — especially critical for riders on exposed trails, boaters on open water, or hikers in flood-prone areas.

Instant SMS Warning

When severe weather is detected near your location, an SMS is sent immediately to your emergency contact phone number, alerting them to the dangerous conditions so they can check on you.

I Don't Feel Safe

One-Tap Safety Alert

If you ever feel uneasy or unsafe during your activity — whether it's a trail encounter, a sketchy situation, or just a bad feeling — tap the "I'm Not Safe" button and your emergency contact is immediately notified with your location.

Email & SMS Notification

Your emergency contact receives both an email and an SMS (if a phone number is set) with your name, session details, how long you've been out, and your last known GPS location. The message is clear: this is a safety concern, not an emergency.

Limited to 3 Alerts Per Session

To prevent alert fatigue, each session is capped at 3 "I'm Not Safe" alerts. This ensures your contact takes them seriously while still giving you multiple attempts if they don't respond the first time.

Separate from SOS

This is not an emergency alert — it's a non-emergency safety check-in. For genuine emergencies where you need immediate help, use the separate SOS button which alerts your emergency contacts right away with no limit on how many times you can trigger it.

🚨

SOS Emergency Alerts

One-Tap SOS Button

A prominent SOS button is available at all times during an active session. Pressing it immediately triggers emergency alerts to your designated contact — no fussing with menus when every second counts.

Instant Email Alert

Your emergency contact receives an email immediately with your name, activity type, session start time, current GPS coordinates, and a direct link to your live location map.

SMS Text Alert

Simultaneously, an SMS text is sent to your emergency contact's phone with a brief summary and a clickable link to your live location — reaching them even if they don't check email right away.

Session Flagged for Admin

Once SOS is triggered, your session is immediately flagged in the Safety Dashboard so that any admin monitoring can see it highlighted and act if needed.

No Limit on SOS Alerts

Unlike other safety features that have caps or cooldowns, SOS has no restrictions. In a real emergency, you can trigger it as many times as needed — because when safety is truly at risk, limits don't apply.

⏰

Overdue Notifications

You Set Your Own Return Time

When clocking in, you choose how long your activity should take — from 1 hour to 10 days. This is entirely customizable so short trail rides and multi-day camping trips are both covered.

Automatic Overdue Check

Our system runs checks every 30 minutes. If you haven't clocked out by your chosen return time, it automatically sends an overdue alert to your emergency contact.

Email & SMS Notification

Just like the SOS alert, the overdue notification goes out via both email and SMS so your contact is reached through whichever channel they respond to fastest.

Admin Safety Dashboard

Overdue sessions are also surfaced in the admin Safety Dashboard with visual warnings, giving the tribe's coordinators an at-a-glance view of anyone who may need a check-in.

Offline-First Reliability

Clock In Without Signal

Starting a ride or activity in a remote area with no cell service? The app saves your clock-in locally and syncs it to the server the moment you regain connectivity — your session is never lost.

Clock Out Without Signal

Same for clocking out. If you're still off-grid when you finish, the session end time is stored on your device and uploaded automatically once you're back in range.

Continuous GPS Trail Storage

GPS trail points are cached locally throughout your session. Whether you're online or offline, the full trail is preserved and synced when connectivity returns — giving your emergency contact and the system a complete picture.

Visual Sync Status

A clear banner at the top of the app lets you know when you're offline and when pending data is being synced — so you always know the status of your safety data at a glance.

🤸

Automatic Fall Detection

Accelerometer-Based Detection

Your phone's built-in accelerometer monitors movement in real time during any active session. If a sudden high-impact force is detected — consistent with a fall from a horse, motorcycle, cliff, or trail — the system immediately responds.

High Threshold — Minimal False Alarms

The detection threshold is intentionally set high (4G of force) to avoid false triggers from trotting, bumps, or rough terrain. Only a true impact-level event — like a real fall — will activate the alert sequence.

"Are You Okay?" Prompt

When a fall is detected, a full-screen "Are You Okay?" prompt appears immediately with a 5-minute countdown timer. If you're fine, just tap "I'm Okay" to dismiss it — no alert is sent, and a 1-minute cooldown prevents re-triggering.

Auto SOS if No Response

If the 5-minute timer runs out with no response, the app grabs your latest GPS coordinates, updates your session trail, and automatically fires a full SOS alert — sending both an email and SMS to your emergency contact with your location.

Covers all activities — Fall detection is active whenever you have any open session: horse riding, motorcycling, hiking, biking, or camping. Because a fall on a mountain trail deserves the same protection as a fall from a horse.

âš ī¸ Important — Keep your screen on (iOS): On iPhone, motion sensors only work while the app is open and the screen is unlocked. If your phone screen locks during a session, fall detection will pause until the screen is woken up. We recommend adjusting your Auto-Lock setting to a longer interval (or "Never") while out on a ride.
